About Ms. Bennett

Ms. Bennett is in her twenty-ninth year of teaching.  Ms. Bennett has been in Columbia County her entire career where she started off as Assistant Director of Bands at Evans High School.  After three years at Evans High School, Ms. Bennett moved to Columbia Middle School.  Ms. Bennett is beginning year twenty-sixth at Columbia Middle School where she is Director of Bands.  Ms. Bennett has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Georgia Southern University, a Masters Degree in Education from Troy University and an Education Specialist Degree from Augusta State University.
 
Ms. Bennett is a professional bassoonist and plays with many area groups including Augusta Symphony, The Augusta Players, Savannah River Winds, and many area churches.  Ms. Bennett is Assistant Marching Band Director at Grovetown High School and is Georgia Music Educators Association District Ten Chair.  Ms. Bennett is an active clinician and adjudicator in both Georgia and South Carolina.  She is also the Middle School Conservatory Director at Augusta University.
 
In her spare time, Ms. Bennett enjoys traveling, yoga, bicycling, aerobics and volunteering at the Golden Harvest Food Bank.  Ms. Bennett is the proud owner of four cats and three dogs and is very passionate about animal rescue.  In two years Ms. Bennett plans to retire and work on a cruise ship setting up people's excursions and memberships at the Captain's Circle!  Bon Voyage!!
