Welcome to 7th grade and to Columbia Middle School! I am so excited to have your child as part of my class this year. As the 2022-2023 school year begins, I start my 13th year as a Language Arts teacher. I graduated from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. After 4 years in retail management, I finally realized my calling to teach. My passion for children and learning put me right where I need to be: in the classroom!
I recently completed my Master's degree in Education and I am currently enrolled in the Doctoral program at GA Southern! Whew, it's a lot of work, but I'm excited to finish soon! I am certified to teach Language Arts, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Gifted Education, Early Childhood, and Special Education. My other passion is teaching fitness classes at Max Fitness and Gold's Gym, and I love hanging out with my family and friends. I am married to Justin, and we have two children: Declan who is 8 years old, and Tenley, who is 5 years old.

Columbia Middle School ELA Grading Scale
**Summative Assessments (tests, projects, essays) = 70%
(At the end of each 9 weeks, the lowest summative assessment will be dropped from the average.)
*Formative Assessments (quizzes, classwork, short-constructed responses) = 30%
