Required Classroom Supplies:

*3-Ring Binder- must be at least 1"

*Tab Dividers (8th Grade Science-6/ High School Physical Science-10)

3 Glue sticks

Color Pencils

Pencils (Please be sure to have plenty of extras in your bookbag)

Calculator (any kind will work; if you have one for math, you can use it for science as well)

College Ruled Paper

* These items are a must for this class. Students will be given a lot of papers to keep up with that will help serve as study guides for tests, benchmarks, and end of course testing.

Graded Weights:

Summative Assessments- 55% (Tests, Projects)

Given to evaluate student proficiency of content taught/ One opportunity to retest per Assessment

Benchmarks- 5%

8th Grade Science will take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter, HS Physical Science will take 1st and 4th quarter

Formative Assessments- 40% (Classwork, Quizzes)

Given to evaluate student progress on content taught/ No retests or 2nd tries.

Semester Exams (HS Physical Science Only)- 20%

Given to HS Physical students in place of 2nd quarter benchmark at the end of the 2nd semester to evaluate student proficiency of content taught.
