Beta Club
Beta Club is an honor society that focuses on serving others and developing leadership skills. Students are invited to join the club based on GPA. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 90 to qualify. Inductions take place at the end of each school year.

Meetings will be held as needed and will be announced via morning & afternoon announcements as well as on Google Classroom, which Beta Club students must join. Students should see Ms. Stevens or attend the first meeting to obtain the class code. Students should arrange transportation home prior to attending any meetings.

 
Student Council

We are Columbia Middle’s student government. Students must apply to join the student council. If chosen, they will represent their grade level. Our mission is to serve the school, plan events, help support PBIS, and allow students a chance to lead.

Art Club

In art club, students get to grow their creativity and artistic skills. There is an art club for each grade level. There’s a $25 fee.  Parents can sign their students up on Revtrak.

The clubs meet once a month on different Tuesdays from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.

 

CyberPatriots

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air & Space Forces Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is an interdenominational Christian sports ministry to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influences of coaches and athletes.

Fellowship of Christian Atheletes (FCA) Information

 

FCA will meet on the FIRST FRIDAY of every month at 7:05 am beginning on Friday, September 5th in Ms. Moelter’s room (6th Grade Hall). There will be a guest speaker on First Friday! Every Friday, students are welcome to come to Ms. Moelter's classroom for prayer and Bible study.

 

Chess Club

"Check Mate!" We love hearing those words in Chess Club! This club provides an after-school opportunity for students to engage in playing the challenging game of chess. It is currently open to all 6th through 8th grade students who already know how to play the game and for any student who would like to learn the game.

 

Chess Club meets every other Wednesday from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Students who want to join the club have to fill out a Parent Permission Slip (See Mr. Wilson) & return it to their teacher. More information will be coming home to chess club members, so be on the lookout!

 

Buddy Club

Buddy Club is a social club for students in all grade levels. It gives students with disabilities extra opportunities to socialize and enjoy activities with their non-disabled peers. Buddy Club fosters friendship and acceptance for all!

 

Stop by the front office to sign-up. Due by September 30th.

 

Athletics

Athletics help to incorporate life skills such as problem solving, physical activity, teamwork, and motivation using different skills outside of the classroom.

Garden Club

The purpose of the CMS Garden Club is to encourage and foster interest in growing, propagating, and gardening plants, and to encourage student investment in the beautification of our school campus.

Raider Idol

Sponsor(s): Ms. Mallard and Mr. Yelton

Raider Idol is our annual talent show fundraiser that supports the exemplary fine arts programs at Columbia Middle School. Students interested in sharing their talent with our school will apply and pass through a preliminary audition. Those selected as finalists will perform at Raider Idol, where guest judges will select this year's Raider Idol. A people's choice winner will also be selected based on audience votes.

 

Raider Idol will take place on Thursday, February 26th from 5:30-7:30 PM. See Ms. Mallard or Mr. Yelton for more information.
